Hi, I'm Hamid Arzani, a fifth-year PhD candidate in Operations Management and Statistics at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. My research asks how service systems can be designed to be both efficient and equitable, particularly in healthcare and public services, and how AI-enabled technologies reshape access and performance. My research has received awards and finalist honors in the MSOM Student Paper Competition (2026), the POMS College of Service Operations Management Student Paper Competition (2026), the CORS Open Category Student Paper Competition (2026, 2024, and 2023), the INFORMS Service Science Student Paper Competition (2025), and the CORS Gilbert Laporte Student Paper Competition (2025). I also served as an elected Student Councillor on the CORS Council, representing student members across Canada, and received the 2026 CORS Student Member Leadership Award.
Before beginning my doctoral studies, I earned an M.A.Sc. in Management Sciences from the University of Waterloo and dual B.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering from Sharif University of Technology.
I am on the 2026-2027 academic job market.
